Three Easy Ways To Elevate Your Look For A Special Night Out

Posted on: 29 April 2015

An evening out with your friends calls for something special in the way of your outfit and hair. However, you don't have to spend hours in front of the mirror in order to glam up your appearance. These three simple ideas will elevate your everyday look, allowing you to look stylish for the special event.

1. Add some hair extensions.

Hair extensions are amazing, because they let you completely change the look of your hair without waiting months for it to grow. Visit a local salon or specialist like L J Hair Systems to purchase a few clip-in extensions that are the same color as your hair. Then, clip them into your hair about 3/4 of the way down your head. (They should be about level with your ears). You can pin back or braid sections of your natural hair to add style to your look, or just enjoy the look of your extra-long hairdo on its own.

Another option is to go for a two-toned look. Buy extensions that are a very different color from your hair, and clip them in. For example, if you're a brunette, clipping in some blonde extensions can give you edgy appeal.

2. Go for the metallic eye makeup.

Have you ever walked through the makeup aisle and admired the metallic eye shadow, but decided that you never have a reason to wear something that glamorous? Now, you do! Purchase the boldest metallic shadow you can find -- you get bonus points if you can find a shade that's the same color as your outfit for the evening. Remember to do the rest of your makeup subtly and naturally so that the metallic eyeshadow stands out. If you tend to have problems with your eye makeup creasing, make sure you apply an eyelid primer before applying the metallic shadow.

3. Apply false eyelashes.

If you don't usually wear false eye lashes, this is the perfect occasion to start experimenting. Remember to cut the false lashes to the exact width of your eye before applying them. Then, apply a small amount of a high-quality lash glue to the rim of the lashes. Wait a few seconds for the glue to get extra sticky, and then press the lashes onto the base of your natural lash line. It should be right on top of your lashes, rather than on your eyelid.

Use some or all of the tips above, and you're bound to look stunning on your special night.
